The intro is so cool, Iike the melody. The buildup could use some more energy. try to add a thick snare with the kick drum and automat the pitch to go up. The growls are very classic sounding, try to sprinkle them with a little stereo imaging and distortion. also add a wide reverb with a short decay to your snare.

The beat change at the second drop is very nice, its feels like drum and bass. It was awesome when brought back the melody over the drop. I love how it sounds. One more thing, you must sidechain your growls to your kick to give more punch

Thaks for listening to my song and reviewing it, it's nice to hear that my songs are good :)) About stereo-imaging the growls, sometimes I do it, but it ends often sounding bad when played on mono (like on laptop or smartphone speakers). I actually sidechained the basses to the kick and snare but it seems like the automation is too tight and I should add some reeverb to the snare. Anyways, thanks for reviewing my song :))

The main bass you have there is pretty cool, but its kinda dry. If you are using serum you can add a phaser filter or a reverb that is automated with a little bit of movement. You could use a different wavetable for the sound. maybe layer it with a low bussy saw bass, and add some stereo imaging to make it wide. The instrumental stuff between the bass is really cool, you should do more stuff with that.

The drop sounds like it could use a bit more juice. It sounds like you have reverb on the basses, which makes tehm less powerful. Instead of reverb you could add some tube distortion to the sound and turn up the sub. dont forget the super saws, put a little minor chord at the begining of each section. It seems like you do have a reverb filter on the growls, you should lower the cutoff to around 20 - 100 Hz so you can get some wacky pitch automations.

The sound design in general needs more stability

HVLLXW responds:

ty for the review. i knew it needed some extra work, so i'll keep this comment in mind when i touch it up

the beat is pretty cool, i see you dipped all the fx in reverb

ninja78900987 responds:

actually, most of them are already like that
i think i only added reverb to one sample, the gamecube "bong" at the end
anyways, thanks for listening

those vocal things in the intro are cool. the bass that comes in at 00:20 has some notes that are off key.It also dosnt match the vocal sounds that come back in at 00:40. the percussion that comes in a little later is interesting, not sure if it works tho. try to work off of chord shapes for the melody and bassline and it will sound more complete

CJspellsfish responds:

thanks

the melody is actually really cool but since its dubstep you should add some wubs and growls and other screeeechy stuff. and maybe find some more tough drum samples. also it needs a buildup to go with the drop

daon81 responds:

I know, it's not really Dubstep. Unfortunately, Newgrounds restricts the Genre choice. On my SoundCloud page, it's listed as 'Glitch Hop', but Newgrounds doesn't allow custom Genres :(

the square things at 00:11 are a little loud and kinda stand out too much, maybe turn them down a little. its pretty cool overall

Albin3825 responds:

I probably should have added sidechain

the intro seems a little strange, like a metronome in glitching out. Maybe you could add some white noise and a low pass filter with a little resonance an automate it up. At 00:16 it is craving some stabs there, you already have a pluck thing there but try and layer it with some brass or a thicker bass. I like the pluck progression, its cool. At 00:27 there is a stray hat there, its lonely! add some more drums to make it feel good. also the name 'shatter' is good, you should keep that

daon81 responds:

thanks for the feedback. the track is out at https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/947639.
I hope you enjoy it.

I love that vocal thing that goes oooooooooohin the begining. The beat comes in strong, but maybe snare is a little too loud and a good idea is to use 2 similar hi hats for the beat. I love all the instrumental stuff everywhere, its really powerful. also the drop basses are nice and fresh, I like those. The drop seems to be lacking a bit of sub bass

also thats alot of software tags lol

BeastKillerMusic responds:

Thanks for the feedback and there definitely is a lot of software tags lol.

cool and chill, I like that bass in the background its very nice. very epic

spikel responds:

Thank you!

This is really neat, its really surreal. I just think that the hi hat i a little to loud and kinda drowns other stuff out. But I really like the piano melody

LordAndiso responds:

Thank you so much :3 i will lower the volumes of that hi-hat.. i didn't really know that it sounds too loud cuz it sounds normal to my headphones.

we do a little producing
